Kara Thieleman earned a B.A. in sociology/anthropology from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. She earned an MSW and PhD from Arizona State University, as well as a Certificate in Trauma and Bereavement. She has experience as a grief counselor, hospice social worker, instructor, and researcher. Her research focuses on traumatic bereavement and mindfulness-based approaches for grief.
