Zita Schiller

Dr. Zita Schiller, DNP, RN, PMHNP-BC earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Arizona State University in 2014. Her professional experience as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner encompasses a broad range of clinical settings and populations, including work with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She has provided care in inpatient acute eating disorder units, inpatient crisis mental health facilities, outpatient mental health clinics, and substance use disorder treatment programs, with a particular focus on complex childhood and adult trauma. Additionally, her professional practice includes telepsychiatry, with an emphasis on expanding access to care and supporting continuity for clients in underserved communities.

Her academic contributions began in 2013 as an adjunct clinical nursing faculty at Glendale Community College, where she taught clinical mental health nursing until 2015. In 2021, she joined Arizona State University’s Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation as a prelicensure nursing faculty associate, and later that year, she was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. In this role, she is committed to preparing the next generation of advanced practice nurses through evidence-based education, leadership development, and mentorship grounded in both clinical expertise and theoretical foundations.
