Brian Nethero has been with ASU since 2011 and serves as Director of Starbucks Initiatives, overseeing the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, Starbucks Global Academy, and other strategic initiatives in the ASU-Starbucks partnership. Brian is particularly passionate about serving learners, increasing access, and making it as easy as possible for people to be successful. Previously, Brian was Executive Director for Sanford Inspire in the Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation, where he led the development of innovative, online teacher professional development called On-Demand Modules.
Brian has also taught 4th grade in the Roosevelt School District in Phoenix, facilitated new teacher professional development workshops, and led a school team through an intensive summer school experience. Brian earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Marketing from the University of Missouri. He also completed two Masters’ degrees with Arizona State University, in Elementary Education and Educational Leadership.
Outside of work, Brian loves being a husband, dad, foodie, and crocheter.
