Dr. Carol Hepburn is an instructor in the Writer’s Studio at Arizona State University, where she teaches first-year writing and composition in digitally mediated environments. Her work emphasizes the role of writing as a tool for discovery, identity, and critical engagement in academic and professional contexts.
Her scholarship bridges literature, rhetoric, and digital technology, with particular attention to how students interpret and apply writing assignments in online learning platforms. She has published on the ethnography of communication in the literature classroom and continues to research the intersection of language, learning, and digital writing instruction.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Hepburn has professional experience in marketing communication, advising, and consulting, which informs her practical approach to teaching writing for diverse purposes and audiences.
