In the recent years, Enrico Minardi's research interests have developed toward a more comprehensive and interdisciplinary examination of Italian culture and society. In his essays on modern poetry, he has paid a particular attention to gender-related issues when focusing on female authorship, and he has edited (with Cristina Caracchini) a volume of essays on the intersection of cognitive theory and poetry.
However, the success enjoyed by his Italian and French Popular Culture class made him realize that other expressions of Italian culture (such as television, popular music, and magazines) can also be investigated in order to obtain a better understating of how Italian society has recently changed. He is currently working on a book-length study on the reception of rock music in Italy throughout the 1980s. He is a contributing editor in Italian Studies for The Year’s Work in Modern Language Studies. He is also at the early stages of an additional follow-up project on his essay on Annie Vivanti, regarding an extensive study on female poetry in the second half of 19th century.
Minardi is a senior lecturer of Italian and French at Arizona State University. Prior to ASU, he taught at Truman State University, MO; University of Wisconsin-Madison, WI; University of Indiana; Elon University, NC; and Duke University, NC.

However, the success enjoyed by his Italian and French Popular Culture class on the last two Spring semesters made him realize that other expressions of Italian culture (such as television, popular music, and magazines) can also be investigated in order to obtain a better understating of how Italian society has recently changed. For instance, he is currently working on a book-length study on the reception of rock music in Italy throughout the Eighties. Nonetheless, his long-lasting interest for poetry has not faded, and he has recently become contributing editor in Italian Studies for The Year’s Work in Modern Language Studies. He is also at the early stages of an additional follow-up project of his essay on Annie Vivanti, regarding an extensive study on female poetry in the second half of 19th century.
