When I was in high school, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in social work. I graduated with my Bachelors in Social Work from Siena College in Albany, NY and immediately went on to earn my Master's of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University. I have been working in the field of social work since 1994 and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2000. My primary interest is with children, youth, and families. Initially, I worked in a foster care prevention program providing counseling and support to children and families to help families remain intact or facilitate family reunification when feasible.
Since 2002, I have been a School Social Worker in elementary/middle schools in the Phoenix area providing social, emotional, and behavioral individual, group, and classroom intervention and support services. I recently accepted a district level social work position, which allows me to provide support and guidance to students, families, staff, and other social workers throughout the district. I am also the crisis intervention social worker for the district, providing support services to students, families, and staff during difficult situations.
I have also been a part of the Arizona State University community as a field instructor and field liaison (in person and online) for over 15 years. I am very passionate about Social Work and am committed to providing optimal learning opportunities to promote ethically competent professionals within the field.
