Nicole Johannson is an instructor in the French faculty group in the School of International Letters and Cultures at Arizona State University. She teaches both intermediate and beginner courses (her favourite course to teach is FRE 201, where students work extensively with the past tense and storytelling). Originally from British Columbia, Canada, Johannson’s experience with bilingualism at a young age sparked her interest in teaching French. Her research focus is on second language acquisition, the French language, and the online learning environment for second languages. She uses her research interests to be a major contributor to the ASU Online in French, working to grow and nurture the online language program. In her non-teaching time, she likes to hike, crochet, read, and spend time with her husband and son.
