Long Bio
Mariana Bahtchevanova is a principal lecturer in French and the coordinator of the lower-division French courses. In addition to teaching various graduate and undergraduate linguistics and French language courses, she coordinates, trains, and mentors languages instructors and teaching assistants. Her research interests include language teaching and learning, syntax, and second language acquisition. A firm believer in the crucial role of foreign language and culture education for the formation of the 21-century global citizens, Professor Bahtchevanova is also actively involved in the larger community of language educators through her work as an executive board member of the Arizona Language Association.
