Renee D. James is the Curator for Greater Arizona Collection. Throughout her career Renee has managed archival units, implemented, developed, and standardized key access related policies and procedures, negotiated the terms of donations with donors, designed and installed exhibits, collaborated with faculty, and oversaw the management of two major grant awards. Prior to her tenure at ASU, Renee was the Archivist and Special collections Assistant for California State University, Los Angeles. The bulk of Reneeās professional career was centered in New York City, where she served as the Senior Archivist for The Rockefeller University and the Rockefeller Archive Center.
As curator for the Greater Arizona Collection, Renee acquires published resources, manuscript, and archival materials; she engages in online and in-person outreach activities and instruction, actively participates in donor relations; and engages in professional development activities and research.
Research interests include the development of community engagement programs, and the impact of technology and user expectations on space utilization and the diversification library architecture.
