Martine Garcia currently serves as the Assistant Director of Strategic Initiatives with ASU Career Services, implementing strategies, programs and direct support university-wide to first-generation college students, DACA/Undocumented students, and other historically underrepresented students in college. Additionally, Martine helps to lead career engagement for K-12 students in AZ and families.
Martine previously served as the Program Director for TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Program at ASU Polytechnic and the TRIO SSS Teacher Preparation Program providing academic, personal, professional and financial guidance for first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities. Martine is also a Faculty Associate in Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.
At ASU, Martine serves in a variety of roles within the ASU community that allows him to serve the communities that he is passionate about supporting. Martine serves as the President-Elect for the Chicano Latino Faculty and Staff Association (CLFSA) and will serve as President for the 2024-2025 academic year. He previously served as the Poly Sol Liaison for CLFSA, as one of the founding members of Poly Sol, an organization at the ASU Polytechnic campus which seeks to celebrate and empower Chicanx/Latinx communities at the Poly campus and the East Valley. He also serves as the Co-Chair for the First-Gen Zone Conference at ASU, that seeks to provide ASU Staff, Faculty, and Students a platform to exchange ideas & resources meant to supporting first-generation college students and professionals. Additionally, Martine actively serves on the ASU MLK Jr. Celebration Committee at ASU and has served as the ASU Polytechnic chair.
Martine Garcia is a first-generation college graduate, community college transfer student, and ASU Alumnus. He graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Communication with a minor in Organizational Leadership, and holds a Master's degree in Management and another in Legal Studies.
