Katherine O'Flaherty

Katherine M. O'Flaherty is a Teaching Professor and Honors Faculty Fellow at Barrett, The Honors College. She also serves as Dean's Fellow for Innovation and Honors Pedagogy. 

Dr. O'Flaherty is co-editor of three books: Structural Challenges and the Future of Honors Education, Continuity and Innovation in Honors College Curricula, and Present Success and Future Challenges in Honors Education, all published by Rowman & Littlefield.

Dr. O’Flaherty teaches The Human Event, History of Ideas, and a range of upper-division humanities courses and personal and professional development courses. She has also participated in several Barrett study abroad programs, including trips to England, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, and Morocco.

Dr. O’Flaherty regularly serves as director and reader for honors thesis projects and supervises research and teaching assistants.

She is a recipient of the ASU Faculty Women's Association Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award, Barrett Annual Award for Excellence in Teaching, Barrett Annual Award for Excellence in Service, and Devils' Advocates "Apple Polisher" Faculty Appreciation Award.

Dr. O'Flaherty is affiliate faculty in the School of Transborder Studies and School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies at ASU.
