Ciera graduated summa cum laude from Barrett, The Honors College at ASU with her B.S. in Psychology in 2017. From 2016-2019, Ciera worked in the EEG Lab with Drs. Gene Brewer and Chris Blais investigating dynamics of cognitive processes using a variety of biofeedback tools, including EEG, neurostimulation, and eye-tracking/pupillometry. Ciera then transitioned into the role of EEG Lab Specialist in the Healthy Experiences Across Relationships and Transitions Lab (@HEART Lab), where she investigated the neurophysiological correlates of acceptance and rejection in romantic couples. During this time, Ciera also worked in the Couples Coping with Stress Lab with Dr. Ashley Randall, where she helped develop and disseminate stress measurements that better captured temporally accurate interpersonal emotion dynamics in couples.
In 2019, Ciera joined the doctoral program in Clinical Psychology at ASU. During her time as a graduate student, Ciera has focused her research on the association between substance use and psychosis. Currently, her interests surround the forensic implications of severe mental illness/psychosis and drug use. She is especially passionate about her clinical work and is eager to become a licensed psychologist one day.
Ciera plans to graduate with her PhD in Clinical Psychology from ASU in 2025.
