Chris LaMont

Chris LaMont is an award-winning WGA screenwriter, who’s work with writing partner Joseph Russo includes the 2020 action-thriller Hard Kill starring Bruce Willis, the 2020 Lifetime suspense-thriller The Au Pair Nightmare, the 2023 noir-drama The Locksmith starring Ryan Phillipe, Kate Bosworth and Ving Rhames steaming on Hulu, the 2024 horror film Soul Mates available for rental or purchase through iTunes and Amazon,and the 2024 supernatural horror film The Inheritance streaming on Hulu.

He has also produced several independent film projects including Writer’s Block, 14 Days in America, Netherbeast Incorporated, My Apocalypse, The Graves, Justice Served,  Postmarked and Rhea.

He is the founder of the Phoenix Film Festival, the Phoenix Film Society, IFP – Phoenix (Independent Filmmaker Project), and the International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival and has been active in the Arizona media industry for nearly thirty years.

He has been teaching at Arizona State University for over twenty years and has just finished the Third Revised Edition of his book Great Comedy Films: or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Funny Movies.

With his own media production company, he has produced hundreds of marketing, educational and promotional projects through his own freelance company and loves spending time writing bios of himself.
