Stephanie Smith

Dr. Stephanie Smith's professional career began in the corporate world of customer service coaching and training. She received her BS in Psychology from Loyola University of Chicago, an MS in Education/Counseling in Higher Ed at Northern Illinois University, and her Doctor of Education degree from ASU, Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. Stephanie has worked in the department of Student Affairs in higher education for most of her career in a variety of roles, including career and personal counseling, student affairs professional, learning specialist, and dean of students. Her research is in identifying and fostering help-seeking behaviors in medical students. In every role, her passion is for helping students, and empowering them to make decisions about their overall wellness and academic success. Stephanie's teaching experience lies within a variety of topics, including time and stress management, learning strategies, personality and learning styles, and various courses within ASU EdD program. Her counseling background and counselor certification also enables her to work well with the diverse needs of students in higher education.
