Kurt Miltenberger has been teaching math courses that prepare students for elementary teaching positions from pre-school to 8th grade for the past two years. His courses cover a range of topics from number sense and basic geometry to algebra. Each course is taught through a hands-on, Socratic method where students are able to discover different ways of solving problems. Mr. Miltenberger is interested in how teacher candidates communicate mathematic concepts to their students. His additional interests encompass communication effects on mathematics in the classroom and when algorithms should be taught in the learning process.
