Kenneth Willmott

Originally from Niagara Falls, New York, Ken Willmott has called the Valley of the Sun his home since 1992. He joined the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts leadership and interdisciplinary studies faculty group in 2016. Prior to joining Arizona State University, he taught courses at Arizona Summit Law School, such as Constitutional Law, Income Tax, Estate Planning and Legal Remedies as well as working in the school's legal clinic.

Willmott received his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from ASU’s in-state rival, the University of Arizona. He is a Certified Public Accountant (Arizona). Prior to attending law school he working in various aspects of the accounting profession. He received his Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from the Arizona State University College of Law. During law school, he was a member of the Arizona State Law Journal and served as the Journal’s editor-in-chief during his third year of studies. 

Outside of academic pursuits, Willmott has a very diverse business and legal background. He has served in various financial management roles, ranging from the director of finance in a multi-national health care firm, to the Chief Financial Officer in a start-up biomedical company. He has also owned and operated several businesses in very diverse industries, from a construction trades business to founding and serving as the managing partner of Willmott & Associates, PLC; a small law firm based in Phoenix, Arizona. As a practicing attorney, he has assisted entrepreneurs in starting their businesses and formed numerous legal entities such as limited liability companies and corporations. In addition to assisting startup entities, he negotiated contracts for clients, from small firms to international companies.
