Robert J. Razzante received his PhD from the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication at Arizona State University. His engaged scholarship seeks to transform conflict surrounding the intersections of culture, privilege, and marginalization. Rob’s dissertation research is with a multi-national healthcare organization desiring a more inclusive workplace for their caregivers. The study uses Interpretive Structural Modeling to offer suggestions for organizational leaders when allocating resources for building inclusion. Additionally, Rob’s current research extends co-cultural theory toward dominant group theorizing. In taking an intersectional approach, Rob is interested in how people communicate from their simultaneous standpoints of privilege and marginalization. His research on dominant group theorizing has been published in Communication Theory, Journal of International and Intercultural Communication, and Communication Studies.
