Theresa Moen, PhD, CCC-SLP is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation. She is also a bilingual (English-Spanish) Speech-Language Pathologist. She completed her PhD in Speech and Hearing Science at ASU and her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Marquette University where she also completed the BIES (Bilingual English Spanish) specialization. Her research focuses on improving the educational experiences of emergent bilingual students and enhancing the practices of the SLPs who serve them. Her interests include bilingual speech/language assessment and intervention, the intersection of English language learning and special education, adaptation of drama-based early literacy programming for students with disabilities, educational language policy, and community-based action research. She is dedicated to fostering culturally responsive practices in future SLPs.
Theresa has been awarded the ASHA Distinguished Early Career Professional award and the Outstanding PhD Student Award.
