In my role with the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation I direct, plan and monitor marketing and communication strategies. Areas of the college that are part of Marketing and Communication are: advertising, social media, media relations, video production, alumni relations, events management and graphic design
While at the University of Iowa, I was responsible for communicating the UI story to prospective undergraduate students and their influencers. In my role as Director of Communications for Enrollment Management, I helped craft the strategic directions and priorities of the office, working to increase enrollment and attract the highest quality students. I also oversaw several Web and social media sites targeted to prospective students and their parents.
Before going to Iowa, I was the Director of Marketing and Promotions at the University of Central Missouri. There I led development of the undergraduate marketing campaign. I oversaw UCM's social media assets and managed the design, content and navigation of the university's website.
I have also pursued my expertise in institutional social media outside of higher education, having worked with the Missouri School Boards’ Association and numerous other association clients.
Beyond professional life, my involvement in school boards at the local, state and national levels has provided me invaluable knowledge of how to interact with a variety of business, community, and governmental groups. While an officer with the Missouri School Boards’ Association, I had numerous opportunities to speak with legislators, corporate executives, and other state government representatives. I served on the governor’s STEM task force, testified numerous times on education legislation, and sat on the advisory board for the Missouri Virtual Instruction Program.
