My professional background combines corporate law, entrepreneurship, executive leadership, and economic development. I started my career as a corporate lawyer at a major New York law firm. Acting on a life-long dream to run my own business, I left the firm and embarked on my entrepreneurial journey that has taken me through nine start-ups (including an ASU spin-out), successful exits to major healthcare companies, and a stint as CEO of a public company.
My ventures focused on the biosciences; investment and management; diagnostics and testing; laboratory development and construction; and novel medical devices. I have been a mentor guiding budding entrepreneurs at ASU’s Edson Entrepreneurship + Innovation Institute since 2012, and teaching entrepreneurship since 2023. I am an initial member of the Arizona Bioscience Roadmap Steering Committee (Vice-Chair during 2004-2006) and am the past president of the Arizona BioIndustry Association.
I am a published author, media commentator and recipient of business awards including the Spirit of Success Award presented by the Arizona Governor. I received a 2025 Fulton Schools of Engineering Top 5% Teaching Recognition Award.
