Alexis Faison

Alexis Faison, PhD, LAC, NCC is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Counseling and Counseling Psychology at Arizona State University, where she teaches and mentors undergraduate and graduate students preparing for careers in mental health. A Licensed Associate Counselor and community advocate, Dr. Faison’s work centers on supporting Black and BIPOC populations through culturally responsive, trauma-informed care.

With a deep commitment to equity, healing, and representation, Dr. Faison blends clinical practice, academic instruction, and community engagement to address the mental health needs of historically marginalized communities. Her expertise includes trauma recovery, financial wellness and mental health, racial identity development, and inclusive mentorship in higher education. She has been the recipient of ASU’s Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award and Outstanding Teaching Award, honored for her impact in the classroom and beyond.
