I-Chin Lin (林宜瑾) is a Ph.D. candidate in East Asian Languages and Civilizations and a graduate of the Digital Humanities certificate program at Arizona State University. Her research explores urban culture and book culture studies, with a particular focus on the interplay between space, performance arts, and city writings in the medieval periods of premodern China. She integrates Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies and AI tools in her digital humanities project, The Urban Entertaining Space: Digital Mapping of the Premodern Kaifeng Capital, to visualize and analyze the spatial narratives of historical Chinese cities. Passionate about interdisciplinary and cross-cultural inquiry, I-Chin also studies Japanese and investigates intercultural drama, examining how diverse cultural texts reflect and reinterpret contemporary concerns. Outside of academia, she enjoys practicing Chinese calligraphy, visiting museums, and creating miniature art.
