Concetta Bondi

Concetta Bondi, PhD, is an Associate Teaching Professor of Spanish at Arizona State University, where she directs the Spanish for the Professions certificate/minor and Internship program on the Downtown Phoenix campus. She holds a Master’s degree in Hispanic Studies from McGill University and a PhD in Spanish/Chicanx Studies from ASU.

With more than 15 years of teaching experience in Spain, Canada, and the United States, Dr. Bondi has taught Spanish and ESL in both academic and corporate settings. Her research centers on Chicanx/Latinx identity studies, and their relation to architecture, art, and literature. Her current work examines Latinx/Chicanx art and cultural production in Phoenix, Arizona.

She is co-editor of AfroLatinas/LatiNegras: Culture, Identity, and Struggle from an Intersectional Perspective (Lexington Books, 2022) and has published in journals including: Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social, Hispanic Journal, and Design Principles and Practices. Her teaching and scholarship has been recognized with the Emerging Scholar Award from Common Ground Research Networks and, most recently, the Alberto Álvaro Ríos Sangre de Arte Award.
