David Shields

David Shields formerly served as executive vice president and chief academic officer at Walsh College, Troy, MI. Prior to that, he was dean of the Stetson School of Business at Mercer University, and dean of the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University. He also served as associate dean, MBA director and Flores Endowed Chair at LSU, and associate dean of graduate and professional programs at the University of Houston. He has served as a faculty member at a variety of colleges, including Thunderbird, Rice University, Texas A&M University, and the University of Houston. He received his doctorate at University of Michigan, and MBA and BA at The Ohio State University. He was a CPA (inactive) in Ohio. He has published in numerous journals, including Accounting, Organizations, and Society; Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory; Journal of Accounting and Public Policy; Journal of Business, Finance and Accounting; and the CPA Journal.
