Holsteen-Bruyere is a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Earth and Space Exploration studying with Dr. Amanda Clarke and Dr. Kurt Roggensack. Her current primary work is studying the mixed-volatile solubility of mafic magmas using FTIR, EPMA, and Raman spectroscopy. Prior to her time at ASU, Holsteen-Bruyere dabbled in design before completing her undergraduate degree in geology at Baylor University and working on research into the storage conditions of Yellowstone's Lava Creek Tuff. In her spare time, she continues the design dabbling while loudly cheering for whatever college sport is currently in season and managing two elementary-age sons.
