Octavio Muciño Hernández is a Ph.D. candidate and Graduate Research Associate in the Social and Human Dimensions of Science and Technology program at Arizona State University. He obtained a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Osnabrück, Germany, through the DAAD Helmut-Schmidt program. He also holds a Licentiate degree in Sociology from the University of Guadalajara. Octavio's research interests revolve around the sociopolitical study and normative performance of bioethics and animal ethics, and how Nation-States identify monsters or monstrous entities. He applies STS (Science and Technology Studies) perspectives to investigate migratory and forensic conditions in the Mexican Borderlands.
Apart from research, Octavio is also involved in art science, where he contributes as a bass player and sound designer.
