Long Bio
Karen Jean Martinson is an assistant professor of dramaturgy in the School of Music, Dance and Theatre. Her scholarly and creative work interrogates contemporary USAmerican performance, consumer culture and neoliberalism, and processes of identification, focusing on issues of race, class, gender and sexuality. She is active in the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE), the American Society for Theatre Research (ASTR), the American Theatre and Drama Society (ATDS), and Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas (LMDA), which she serves as Vice President of Advocacy.
