Xaimarie Hernández-Cruz is an Industrial Engineering Ph.D. student at Arizona State University, a 2023 Quad Fellow, an ARCS Scholar, and a Dean's Fellow. She obtained an Industrial Engineering B.S. from the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez in 2019. Her undergraduate research quantified flood vulnerability of Puerto Rico’s coastal cities to aid emergency management with planning and resource allocation. Ms. Hernández’s doctoral work focuses on the development of data-driven tools that aid decision-making in food supply chains to increase their availability and affordability. Ms. Hernández received awards for the best poster and the best Ph.D. student research paper.
