Research Activity
- One of the 5 finalists in an international multi-disciplinary research competition called "Colleges for SDG-13" organized by SIEMENS Gamesa and UN SDSN in 2022. Sudha Unnava was the team lead and represented both ASU and USA on the global platform.
https://youtu.be/scYf6l9oiqQ - Participated in EMERGE 2022 and showcased an exhibit named "ModLife" - A futuristic, modular, ADA-accessible tiny house below 200 sqft, that was inspired from the past.
https://emerge.asu.edu/tag/emerge2022/ - Worked on an Independent studio/research topic called "Coral Reefs and Concrete - The Interaction that Brings a Change" under the guidance of Professor David Turnbull, and Professor Claudio Vekstein, in Spring of 2023. The thesis focuses on how the concrete sub-base of floating buildings can aid and support the growth of coral reefs, thereby regenerating the oceanic ecosystem.
This demonstrates the harmony between SDG 13 and SDG 14, in an effort to show the circular loop for the future of floating cities and communities to house the small island and coastal communities that are affected by climate change.
