Mike Barnett is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Arizona State University. His research uses theoretical modeling, computational methods, and empirical analysis to study the economic and financial market implications of climate change and climate-economic model uncertainties, as well as other sources of risk and uncertainty. His research has been published in leading academic journals, including the Review of Financial Studies and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and in 2021 was awarded the Society for Financial Studies’ Michael J. Brennan Best Paper Award. Prior to joining ASU, Mike received undergraduate degrees in Economics and Mathematics from Brigham Young University, and he received a PhD from the University of Chicago’s Joint Program in Financial Economics.
