Paul McCarthy

Paul McCarthy is a lecturer of information systems with the W. P. Carey School of Business at ASU. He currently teaches CIS 105 Computer Information Systems, CIS 300 Web Design and Development, and CIS 194 Technical Support Fundamentals. Prior to joining W.P. Carey in 2019, Paul was an Instructional Designer with Grand Canyon University (GCU) in Phoenix, Arizona.  There, he integrated curriculum and program design activities associated with the development, assessment, and internal operations for GCU’s College of Science, Engineering, and Technology academic programs and courses. Prior to his work in academia, Paul was employed for twenty years with the multi-national conglomerate, Honeywell.  While at Honeywell, Paul held positions including service as a Webmaster (1998-2001), Business Analyst and Corporate Trainer (2001 - 2012), Sr. System Integrator, and Instructional Designer (2012 - 2018).  His two decades in corporate America allowed for extensive experience and subject matter expertise in web design, user interface design, visual literacy, enterprise-wide applications, digital transformation, system integration, and corporate training. 

Paul is an alumnus of the Phoenix 20-30 Club, the oldest philanthropic organization in the valley, founded in 1932 by Barry Goldwater.
