Long Bio
Antonella Morgillo (she/her) is a Ph.D. candidate in Comparative Culture and Language, specializing in Japanese Studies. She is currently working on Ainu ethnographic film and visual culture. Her research interests include film theory and criticism, visual anthropology, ethnographic and documentary film, visual biopolitics, indigenous studies, gender studies, and cultural theory. Antonella is a recipient of the Guilford A. Dudley Memorial Prize for Excellence in Asian Studies, as well as a Japanese Government (MEXT) fellow and FLAS fellow.
