Long Bio
Antonella Morgillo (she/her) is a Ph.D. candidate in Comparative Culture and Language with a focus on Japanese Studies. Her current research centers on Ainu ethnographic film and visual culture. Her academic interests encompass film theory and criticism, visual anthropology, ethnographic and documentary film, visual biopolitics, and cultural theory. Antonella has been awarded several prestigious fellowships, including the Japanese Government MEXT Fellowship, the FLAS Fellowship, and the Japan Foundation Doctoral Fellowship for 2024-2025.
