Rebecca K. Blais is a licensed clinical psychologist and an associate professor of psychology. Her research focuses on suicide risk among service members and veterans who have experienced military sexual trauma. Her work is supported by two DoD Translational Research Awards totaling roughly $3.7M. She has published over 100 scientific papers.
She received her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Utah (2012) and BA from Connecticut College (2004). She completed a clinical postdoc in infectious disease at VA Puget Sound - Seattle Division (2012-13), where she also completed her predoctoral internship training (2011-12). She next did a research-intensive postdoc at Rush University in the Traumatic Stress track (2013-2014). She was an associate professor and associate department head at Utah State University from 2014-21.
She is an associate editor of Military Psychology and serves on the executive committee of the Society for Military Psychology (Div 19; APA). She is the recipient of the Early Career Research Award from the Society for Military Psychology and Trauma Psychology (Division 56, APA). She is also the recipient of the Gersoni Award and several presidential commendations from the Society for Military Psychology.
