Before joining Barrett as an Honors Faculty Fellow, Clare served as Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Music History at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. She has taught a variety of courses in western art musics and popular musics, typically with a strong emphasis on social justice. In spring 2024, she was the faculty director of Barrett's inaugural Global Honors Flex program in Berlin.
