Lindsey Markwell is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Movement Sciences Program in the College of Health Solutions with expertise in sport psychology and mental performance. She also serves as the Undergraduate Program Director for Kinesiology.
Outside of the university, Dr. Markwell is the founder of LM Coaching, which has two primary areas of focus. Through her Mental Performance Consulting, she works with high school and collegiate athletes to achieve peak performance by developing mental skills. Through her Health and Wellness Coaching, she helps women improve their health and well-being by building sustainable habits, increasing energy and confidence, and creating long-term sustainable change.
Since 2016, Dr. Markwell has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. She takes a learner-centered, active learning approach in all of her classes, designing them to be both rigorous and supportive. Her goal is for students to leave her courses able to apply research and theory directly to their own lives and future careers. She is deeply committed to fostering a positive classroom environment where students feel challenged, connected, and engaged.
Dr. Markwell is also a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC).

Dr, Markwell founded and owns LM Coaching which has two primary roles:
- Mental Performance Consulting: Dr. Markwell works with athletes at the high school and collegiate levels to develop mental skills, build confidence, and achieve peak performance. She has supported athletes across sports such as gymnastics, pole vaulting, golf, basketball, football, swimming, cross country, track, and figure skating.
- Health & Wellness Coaching: Markwell also provides individualized fitness and lifestyle coaching for women. Her approach focuses on building sustainable habits, improving energy and confidence, and creating long-term health outcomes without restrictive diets or quick-fix solutions.
