Long Bio
Tonasha Laws is an accomplished higher education administrator, strategic operations leader, and financial professional with more than 30 years of experience across academic, public, private, and political sectors. She brings expertise in administrative leadership, event management, budget oversight, procurement, financial operations, and strategic planning, with a strong focus on operational excellence and collaborative leadership.
Currently serving as an Events Administrative Program Coordinator and Main Office Supervisor within the School of Molecular Sciences at Arizona State University, Tonasha oversees front office operations and coordinates events that support faculty engagement, student success, and community outreach. She is recognized for her ability to manage complex initiatives, streamline operations, and support organizational goals through effective leadership and attention to detail.
Tonasha’s higher education career includes 20 years of service at Vanderbilt University and 7 years at the University of Houston, where she supported executive leadership, institutional initiatives, and programs focused on recruitment, retention, and student success. Her experience also includes supporting national initiatives through the Child and Family Policy Center at Vanderbilt University, where she contributed to executive-level event coordination and initiatives connected to the White House during the Clinton-Gore administration. Tonasha further expanded her financial leadership experience through her service as Financial Manager for the mayoral campaign of Bill Purcell in Nashville, Tennessee. In this role, she managed campaign financial reporting, monitored expenditures, and supported strategic financial planning efforts.
She is currently completing her Bachelor of Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Project Management at Arizona State University and plans to pursue a master’s degree. Tonasha remains dedicated to leadership, service, and creating meaningful impact through innovation, operational excellence, and commitment to higher education.
