Briana Ondatje graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Developmental Biology. She has worked at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center as a research associate utilizing induced pluripotent stem cells on organ-chip platforms to uncover targetable biomarkers of sporadic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Her research interests include understanding neurodegenerative disease mechanisms and pathways, and the role that the neuroimmune system plays in disease onset and progression of ALS/FTD (frontotemporal dementia). In the Sattler lab, her work focuses on how glial cells from C9orf72 ALS/FTD patients contribute to disease pathology.
