Paige Von Feldt (she/her) is a fourth-year doctoral candidate in the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication. Her research program is situated at the intersection of interpersonal, health, and computer-mediated communication. She earned her B.A. and M.A. from the University of Kentucky, where she also minored in Sociology. As a communication scientist, she primarily uses quantitative methods to study mental illness disclosure decision-making, factors influencing mental help-seeking behaviors, and the impact of communication technologies on mental health and romantic relationships. She was recently awarded the Most Outstanding Thesis Award from the Interpersonal Communication Division of the National Communication Association. Currently, she is a funded research assistant on a study exploring the impacts of social touch in virtual reality. She also serves as a graduate research assistant in Dr. Liesel Sharabi's Relationships & Technology Lab, where she helps conduct research examining connections between communication, technology use, and interpersonal relationships. You can read her work in New Media & Society, Vaccine, Social Sciences, or the International Journal of Communication.
