Mary Cowx is an assistant professor of accountancy at the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. She received her doctorate in accounting in 2021 from the The Ohio State University. Prior to earning her doctoral degree, Cowx worked in tax for 10 years, including serving as a Tax Manager for KPMG and the Hearst Corporation. Professor Cowx teaches Taxes and Business Decisions, an introductory tax course covering taxation of businesses and individuals. Her research interests include tax policy, uncertainty, and enforcement and the effects of accounting and tax rules on decision-making.
