Long Bio
Mary Cowx is an assistant professor of accountancy at the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. She received her doctorate in accounting in 2021 from The Ohio State University. Prior to earning her doctoral degree, Professor Cowx worked in tax for 10 years, including serving as a Tax Manager for KPMG and the Hearst Corporation. Professor Cowx teaches Taxes and Business Decisions, an introductory tax course covering the taxation of businesses and individuals. Her research interests include Tax policy, tax enforcement, and the role of taxes in decision-making.
