Therapeutic and Inclusive Recreation in Arizona Schools (TIRP). 2019 – current. Funded by the Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council. First year: $185,000. Second year: $120,000. Ramella, K. (PI), Ross, A. (Co-PI), Barnard, W. (CI), Ketelhut, J. (CI), and Amato, J. (CI). The project aims to expand and advance therapeutic and inclusive recreation programming in Arizona schools to foster a sense of belonging and valued involvement among all students. This will be accomplished by concurrently 1) integrating individualized TIRP programming, enhancing innovative initiatives, and magnifying inclusive practices in two elementary schools, and 2) analyzing current policies and administrative practices across the nation and state of Arizona. Undergraduate and graduate students at ASU are involved in the project providing services at the schools, and assisting with research activities.
