Long Bio
Isabella Castillo is a second-year doctoral student in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice. She earned her master's degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland and bachelor's degrees in International Studies and Italian from Indiana University. In 2024, she was awarded the Health Policy Research Scholars fellowship.
Her research interests are broadly centered on the multifaceted relationships between disability, intersectionality, and policing. Particularly, her research aims to understand how individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their loved ones comprehend, interact, and are affected by the justice system and its actors.
