College of Global Futures
Fulbright student from Mexico, currently pursuing his doctoral degree in Sustainability at ASU. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master's in Environmental Economics from CIDE, a distinguished Mexican think tank specializing in public policy.
Originally from the sunny southeast of Mexico, Salvador bridges the gap between government bodies and the scientific community through his diverse experience as a sustainability researcher, consultant, and former public official. His work addresses challenges in urban resilience and sustainability, aiming to develop practical solutions for governance systems in metropolitan contexts.
As an activist, Salvador has championed zero-waste initiatives across Mexico, empowering local governments with sustainable waste management strategies. Before joining ASU, he led the Investment Unit for Campeche's State Government and served as a strategic advisor for Mexico City's Sustainability and Climate Change office.
Currently, Salvador’s research explores the drivers and barriers of intermunicipal collaboration for urban service provision, with an emphasis on climate action and sustainable governance systems in metropolitan areas.
