Xincheng Guo (郭昕城) is a Ph.D. student in East Asian Languages and Civilizations (Chinese) program at ASU. He completed his bachelor's degree in Translation at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He later earned a Master's degree in East Asian Studies from the University of Arizona.
His academic focus is on premodern Chinese Literature, specifically Ming-Qing novels such as The Dream of the Red Chamber 紅樓夢 and The Further Adventures on the Journey to the West 西遊補. Xincheng's research examines the role of food within these texts, exploring its narratological functions in the context of Ming-Qing novels. Through his work, Xincheng aims to provide insights into the relationship between food, culture, and literature in these classical pieces.
