Curator of Prints Jean Makin (BFA, MA, MFA/printmaking): 32 years art museum work experience – 27 years at ASU Art Museum. Manages the care, conservation and exhibition of the print collection (more than 6000 works on paper), historic to contemporary work, including Sue Coe print archive. Presents prints and lectures about techniques to groups at museum, including an approximate 22 classes with a total of 600 students during each academic year. Curates exhibitions from collection, the annual summer family exhibition and the biennial ASU Art Faculty exhibition. Supervises/mentors academic interns, workstudy students, and volunteers. Graphic designer and graphic design advisor/manager/purchaser for museum exhibition invitations, text panels and publications. Community work includes eleven-year member of the Chandler Arts Commission, 5-year member on the Chandler Historical Museum Advisory Board past board of trustee’s member for the Balboa Conservation Center, and past museum representative for the Central Arizona Museum Association and member of ASU’s Museums, Galleries, and Collections Committee.
