Awais Zahid is a Civil and Transportation Engineer, He is currently pursuing my Ph.D. at Arizona State University while serving as a Graduate Research Associate. He hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Transportation Engineering, and He bring over five years of comprehensive experience encompassing academia, research, and fieldwork in Civil and Transportation Engineering, with a specialization in Pavement materials.
Awais professional pursuits center around Pavement material science, encompassing pavement design and analysis, Bituminous Materials, Pavement Rehabilitation and Management, as well as Highway and Geotechnical road site and lab testing.
Within research endeavors, Awais is deeply engaged in Asphalt Technology and Binder Rheology study and modeling, Asphalt aging study, Pavement Sustainability, Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement recycling, Stabilized Pavements, Balanced mix design, Pavement mix design, Asphalt Material Performance Testing (NDT and DT), Optimization of pavement through nanomaterial and technology, Pavement Performance Simulation, Mechanistic modeling of fatigue cracking, Self-healing properties of bituminous materials, Pavement Rehabilitation and Management, and Pavement performance modeling and analysis utilizing Artificial Intelligence methodologies.

Awais focus is on advanced and sustainable pavement materials, performance evaluation, and rehabilitation strategies. With expertise in the mechanical properties of binders, asphalt mixes, and innovative solutions for pavement durability, His aim to contribute to cost-effective and environmentally friendly infrastructure.
Awais professional interests center around pavement material science, including design and analysis, bituminous materials, pavement rehabilitation and management, binder rheology and chemistry, recycled asphalt pavements, and balanced mix design. He also focus on long-term aging, rejuvenation, viscoelasticity, and investigating thermal and durability cracking in pavements. He leverage non-destructive and destructive testing to assess performance and explore innovative approaches to enhance pavement durability through advanced technologies like nanomaterials.
