Dr. Xiangyang Dong is an Associate Professor in the School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks. He is a member of the graduate faculty in Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and System Engineering. Dr. Dong’s research interests focus on advancing clean-energy technologies through sustainable design and manufacturing of multifunctional composites and ceramics. His research projects are funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE): Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Office (AMMTO) and Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E), the U.S. Department of Education (ED), and major industries. He is a recipient of the NSF’s Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award and the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award by Oak Ridge Associated Universities.
