In 2024, Dr. d’Arcy joined the School for Engineering of Matter, Transport, and Energy as an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering.
He earned an undergraduate M.Eng in Biomedical Materials Science from the University of Manchester and later spent time in industry at Biocompatibles plc (Farnham, UK). Richard returned to the University of Manchester for his Ph.D. and completed his postdoctoral training at the Italian Institute of Technology (Genoa, Italy). Prior to his position at ASU, Richard was a Research Assistant Professor within the department of Biomedical Engineering (Vanderbilt University) where he was was awarded a DoD Discovery Award.
The d'Arcy lab is dedicated to tackling today's paramount drug/gene delivery challenges and developing advanced biomaterials for musculoskeletal disorders, wound repair, and cancer.
