Erica Reed

Erica Reed is an English instructor and Ed.D. candidate in Leadership and Innovation at Arizona State University, committed to building practical systems that improve student success in online and accelerated learning environments. Her research centers on helping online writing students develop self-regulated learning habits and resource literacy, including the ethical and transparent use of AI as a learning resource. She designs scalable supports that make the hidden curriculum visible by teaching students how to set goals, locate credible resources, draft strategically, interpret feedback, and revise with confidence.

At Cochise College, Erica serves in leadership roles that strengthen academic quality and student support, including English Department Assessment Coordinator and co-lead responsibilities on AI-related initiatives. She advises the AI Literacy Club, creating a safe space for students to learn responsible AI practices while building confidence and independence. She also contributes to the national educator community through the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD), where she presents and facilitates professional learning focused on ethical AI literacy and assignment integrity. In addition, she serves as Lead Copyeditor for Current Issues in Education, supporting the publication of education scholarship with clarity, consistency, and care.

Erica earned her master’s degree in English and Literature from Southern New Hampshire University and continues to align her scholarship, leadership, and service around measurable outcomes for students and educators.
