James Moore

James Moore is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He joined the W. P. Carey School as a Faculty member in 2008. Before joining W. P. Carey, he was an Assistant Professor of Management at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He receved numerous degrees from Arizona State University during the 1980s (B.S. Zoology 1983; B.S. Psychology 1983; Juris Doctor 1987; M.B.A. 1989). Prior to starting his doctoral studies he spent ten years in industry as a consultant working on projects for such clients as Motorola, Honeywell, Intel, and American Express. During this time he also regularly volunteered as a mediator for the Community Mediation Program of Phoenix (sponsored by the City of Phoenix Prosecutor's Office). He started his doctoral studies in 1996 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he majored in Organizational Behavior and minored in Strategy. He completed his dissertation "The Effect of Governance Form upon Adaptation during Times of Environmental Turbulence" in 2003.

Professor Moore has had research published in the Academy of Management Journal and Organization Science, but his focus at the W. P. Carey School has been on service and teaching. He was the Associate Chair and Undergraduate Program Coordinator for the Department of Management from 2010-2016, and a member of the ASU Faculty Senate from 2016-1019. Since 2011 he has been a Barrett Faculty Honors Advisor for the Department.
