Vanessa Nelson Hill, MS, RN

Vanessa Nelson Hill is a Clinical Associate Professor at the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, Arizona State University. She has been co-director of the faith-based project “Heart and Soul”, a Cardiovascular and Lung Disease project targeting the African American Community, Keep It Moving a healthy living/active lifestyle project, and of the Barbershop Program, a collaborative between the American Heart Association, Phoenix Affiliate and BNAGPA.  Dr. Nelson Hill has held the positions of Chief of Local Health Services, Director of Public Health Nursing, and Director of the Center for Minority Health, all with the Arizona Department of Health Services. She is a board member of the Vitalyst Health Foundation and a past member of the American Heart Association Health Equity Task Force. Dr. Nelson Hill is also a graduate from the Centers for Disease Control Public Health Leadership Institute and the American Public Health Association Maternal and Child Health Leadership Institute. Dr. Nelson Hill received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Arizona State University, College of Nursing and Health Innovation.  Dr. Nelson Hill received her PhD from the College of Public Administration and Policy at Arizona State University.
